What will it be like? (Part 1)

Just recently I got the opportunity to collaborate with 10 really amazing girls explaining what they think/imagine heaven will be like. And I am really satisfied with the way it has turned out. This blog post will be split into 2 different parts, In each part 5 people will be sharing their wonderful views on heaven and what they imagine it will be like. I got the idea from the song “I can only imagine” by mercyme it’s always been one of my most favorite songs and I really love seeing other people’s views on heaven!

 Happy reading!

Hailey:

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of heaven is C.S. Lewis’s quote, “If I find in myself a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the only possible explanation is that I was made for another world.” In the past year, I’ve started thinking about heaven a lot. I don’t know if I can really express everything I think. Y’all, it’s going to be so completely glorious! Just think: no more pain. No more sickness. No more suffering. Just joy and peace and hope forever, spending all our days praising Him. When I think about heaven, I think of three main things: Jesus, and home, and all the people I love. Jesus–what will it be like to be in His presence and gaze on His face? We get to find out. We get to do it forever! As humans, we can’t really wrap our finite minds around eternity, but we will be in heaven for eternity. For always. For forever. Home–what a beautiful and comforting truth, that this world in all of its pain and brokenness and corruptness is not our final destination. We’re just passing through. Our citizenship is in heaven, in the place that He has prepared for us. The people I love–death is hard, even when you have eternal hope, but cling to the truth that if your loved ones accepted Christ on earth then they will be waiting for you in heaven. I have friends that live all over the world, and I don’t get to see them often. But since they know Jesus, we will all be together one day. There IS something more–something more than being put in the ground after seventy years of suffering. He has defeated death! I’m eagerly waiting for the day when I will go home for good, and I want to see you in heaven as well. I love thinking about heaven. In the end, though, I think heaven will be nothing like what we’ve imagined. It will be so much better.

Caitlyn:

I’m still figuring out where I stand on the ideas of heaven and when Jesus comes back and His Everlasting Kingdom. However, I’m going to share some of my thoughts on all that today! On the thoughts of heaven… When we die, I believe that our spirits, our breath, our life, goes to Jesus. Our bodies stay in the grave, while our life goes to whom it belongs, our loving Father God.

{ Romans 6:23 } “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

{ 1 Corinthians 5:1-3 } For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

Heaven will be an amazing place where our souls will be with Jesus and I believe we will have new bodies and will dance on streets of gold. ( Revelation 21:21 )

So, in my opinion and from what I’ve read in God’s Word and heard over the years, I believe we’ll have new bodies in heaven and our souls will be with Him in His beautiful presence.

About God’s new kingdom… I believe that when Jesus comes back, He will take away all sin, all of this present world and heaven, and HIs new heaven and earth will be here. Won’t that be such a beautiful day???

{ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 } Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words

Abigail:

When I close my eyes and tell my brain to send me a picture of heaven. All I see is clear blue skies, clouds upon clouds upon clouds and blurry images of gold. My brain cannot comprehend it. I cannot even imagine it. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of heaven is infinite peace. In this day and age peace is rare. Peace is a gift rather than a commodity. Therefore, to picture a place that both represents peace and distributes it regularly. Is literally a dream! A dream that will eventually come true. And that is exciting! When I think of heaven. I think of home. And not just home for me but home for all of us. A place where there is no more sorrow, pain, anger, jealously, hate, sin or any kind of negativity. But a place where God rules and reigns. The place where we truly belong. Heaven is our destination and should be our motivation. If you think about it. The fact that we cannot fully fathom, comprehend or picture it should make you expectant and excited! I don’t know about you but I’m ready to go, like, now! However, on a serious note. The real question is what does this idea and dream that we have of heaven drive you to do right now? For we know that as Christians, heaven is our resting place. The place where we reap everything we have ever sown and we meet with our father. Nonetheless, that’s later what about now? What does the existence of heaven motivate you to do? Well! Firstly, it should motivate us to want to get there. Therefore, we need to take our relationship with God seriously. Like it says in Philippians 2:12 “work out your salvation with fear and trembling”. So take it seriously, don’t take it lightly. Sometimes we get comfortable and take advantage of this grace therefore unmerited favour that we have been granted. But let’s not do that. Let’s stay on track and stay focused. Alongside this, we need to keep the faith and keep the hope and keep the trust in Christ. For times are haaard. Like really hard. And they will continue to get harder. But it is important for us to keep trusting in God. Remember that your strength comes from him and that he will never leave you nor forsake you. And one day! One glorious day, we will meet with Christ in this beautiful place called heaven where “there is will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.”- Revelation 21:4

Sarah:

When I think of heaven, I imagine entering through the pearly gates and walking down the golden street. Heaven will be such an amazing place, its beauty will be beyond description and far greater than anyone can ever imagine!! All your worries and troubles will be lifted away, and you will be filled with immense joy and peace when you finally gaze upon the Lord and be surrounded by His glory! It will be such an amazing thing when we live everyday alongside Him, in the special place that He has prepared those who believe. For there will be no more tears, shame, worry, fear, disease, war, sorrow, or pain. Instead there will be happiness, laughter, love, and joy as we worship together in fellowship forevermore!

What would Heaven Look like?

I could only imagine what Heaven would look like Sparkling golden streets paved for miles and miles glorious Angels with wings majestically spread with radiant white and gold colors Holding trumpets to sound the coming of the King Then I imagine tall beautiful mansions that are seamlessly put together With extravagant arrays of golden colors that reflect onto the clouds I  imagine a magnificent rainbow as it glides throughout the sky filling the heavens with wonder the upon the glassy sea we wear our crowns full of jewels that show our good deeds And when we lay our crowns at His feet we bow our lives to Him He will judge according to the life we lived for him Were we praising believing Christians who sought to seek the Lord Sort of believe Christian’s who knew Him but didn’t really KNOW Him in their hearts or not believing Christians who fled or turned away when they heard the name God Did we ever stray away from God and ride on a darken path Or did we walk with the light and endure its warmth filling our spirits We are to be doers of the word and spread the good news of God and of eternal life in Heaven Because one day we will step in front of our Holy King bowing our hearts to him Saying I’m your servant and He will reply Well done my good and faithful servant That’s when we know where we are going And that is Home.

So, I write poetry.

I want to start posting some of my poetry because I write it a lot, but I never share it because I’m a perfectionist and sometimes it scares me to post it. –Anyways, I actually posted a poem that I wrote a couple weeks ago on Instagram (Click here to see the photos!) and I really liked it so I thought I would be BOLD and post it on my blog. I didn’t add my name of Instagram because I can’t really take all of the credit for it; In a way God gave me the words that I wrote so it’s like half His. ((If that even makes sense) OH, and it doesn’t have a name; but here it is:

(Nameless poem)

My eyes want to see your glory spread around the world like a wild fire, my ears want to hear your praise everywhere I am, my voice wants to shout your word to the broken, my hands want to serve you while they can, my soul thirsts for more of you God, my heart is empty without you, you are the only thing good in me.

So that concludes this blog, I really want to share some more of my poetry in the future, hope you enjoyed it and thanks for reading!! –Sara

Striving to be More like Jesus.

I would like to take a moment of your day; and ask that you read this with an open heart and really think about these words God has given me to tell you.

Everyday we are living for a reason, what we do with that reason is up to us. If we choose to listen to God and strive to be more like Jesus; then we are doing the right thing. Our other option is to be like the 69% of the world that doesn’t believe in Jesus and wake up to live the day for ourselves instead of God. We all sin right? So, what is one of the things that  separates us from non-believers? Is it the way we act or how much we pray? No! And anyone who thinks it is, I’m sorry it’s just not. The difference is we don’t live in sin, we have been born again and all of that sin we once knew it’s just gone, that doesn’t mean we don’t sin. It just means we don’t live in it. So as Christians shouldn’t we want to wake up everyday for Christ? I mean yeah, we do sometimes; but being a Christian is not all sunshine and roses. We have those days when we get overtaken by life and feel like no ones listening to the difference we are trying so dearly to make.

Earlier this week I started reading 13 reasons why by jay Asher. It’s been on my list to read for months I’ve just never gotten to it until now. Anyways the book is far from Christian, obviously! These words just stuck out to me and I feel like God was trying to tell me something:

“No one knows how much of an impact they make on others lives”

Okay I know what you’re thinking, the book is about a teen suicide, and so is the quote, but I feel like it can relate to Christians trying to share the love of Christ. Sometimes the only reason it’s so hard is because we can’t see how much of a difference we are making. We want to give up because we feel like like we don’t have the strength to continue. Sometimes we don’t but God is our strength and He will help us through anything and everything. He’s by our side every second of every day!

Today I want to give every Christian striving to be more like Jesus a little encouragement, You are making more of a difference than you know. Every time you share kind words, a scripture verse, a encouraging note or even a friendly smile. God is looking upon you and smiling because you’re spreading the Love and Word of God in everything you do. One of my most favorite bible verses to help me when I feel like giving up is: “Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.” Hebrews 13:7 NLT This helps me because I remember all of the people showing me the Word of God, but also because it gives me the encouragement to keep on sharing the word of God. Every little thing that we do for the glory of Christ matters. We may not see what Good we are doing now, but it will all be clear to us soon enough! Like I said earlier we have a choice rather to live everyday for Christ or not; I’m Choosing to do it, no matter how hard it might be sometimes because God woke me up to live for Him so I’m going to strive to be more like Jesus in every I do. And I hope you will to!

Never stop shining the light of Jesus, you have more of an impact than you know! –Sara

10 Tips for overcoming challenges in your faith.

as Christians we all have those little struggles in our faith and we all know that it can be really hard to ignore them, so here I am with 10 useful tips for overcoming challenges in your faith:

  1. Pray, Pray, Pray! the thing I find most helpful is to just pray, let God know that you’re have trouble with your faith. he wants us to tell him these things because he is the one who can ultimately help us.
  2. Journal. I write in my journal everyday, it helps me to let all my anger and confusion out in that one place. Yes, I do pray about my anger but I like to talk to God about other things too so I just write about a struggle I’m going through, it really helps.
  3. Talk to a friend. believe it or not, the right friend can be a lot of help. Sometimes you just need a close friend to listen to you and let you know that they can help.
  4. Read the bible. there are so many good verses for overcoming a challenge, a lot of good ones are in Pslams and I defintly recommend it if youre having trouble with your faith.
  5. Read a blog about someone who overcame their struggle. I also find this one really helpful, there are tons of great blog post for overcoming challenges in your faith and the right blog can be a lot of help!
  6. Count your blessings. Sometimes all you can do is be grateful for all that God has done for you and remember that you have made it through past stuggles so God will carry you through this one.
  7. Remember how strong God is. He is your strength, with Him you can overcome anything. it just takes a little time and hope!
  8. listen to Christian music. I listen to music a lot, it really calms me down when I’m stressed out, here are a few songs I really love: my revival by lauren daiglehallelujah by bethany dillon  you make me brave by bethel
  9. Ask for prayers from others. You might not feel comfortable asking others for prayers, but believe me it will really help!
  10. Read Books about missionaries. It’s always so encouraging to see what missionaries have gone through.

I hope some of these tips can be helpful to you, if you have any tips of your own leave a comment telling me what it is, I would love to know! thanks for reading! –Sara

A story of faith.

I wrote a short story about a girl, who if not by the grace of God could be any of us. Enjoy!

She went to bed thinking maybe all this was a dream, she woke up and realized she was still there. She hated her life and wanted all the pain to go away. She wanted to have no fear of the future, then one day she met her Heavenly Father and he changed everything. The pain was still there but God gave her a reason to exist. He told her that she was loved. And forgiven from all her past mistakes. He showed her how to live in light or so be the light. God is her anchor in this crazy storm called “life”
She woke up knowing he would watch over her and she went to bed knowing she didn’t have to fear. She knew that everything she was going through was part of his plan.

Sometimes it Got really hard to hold on and she thought of letting go of God, she thought that she was alone; then she realized it was just the Devil trying to mess with her and pull her back into the dark hole God pulled her out of. She convinced herself that she was okay and asked God to help her truly feel that way, but deep down in her soul is a dark pain that will always be a part of her (at least on this earth) she just had to accept that and live with it.

Some days are worse than others and the only thing that keeps her sane is knowing she has God and knowing that God will never let that pain control her life again. Without God she would not know how to survive, so she gave her life to him; she doesn’t fear for her future because she knows that God is in control and she knows that nothing can defeat God; he is her mighty tower. Her everything, the reason she can survive and help others survive along with her. So saying all this: she has a peaceful heart knowing God is beside her all the time.

Sometimes her faith is all she has to hold on to and it’s in her faith that she never lets go.

Blog of encouragement!

It’s March! Maybe it’s just me but it seems like February went by so fast! I’m so excited to see what this month brings!

Any-who, today I wanted to share a blog of encouragement! I feel like sometimes in this crazy busy world, we just need to STOP and reflect on all the good in our life; for example OUR SAVIOR. Jesus Christ!!! He has done so much for us, more than we know!

He reminds us on a daily basis how loved, redeemed, saved, beautiful, forgiven, etc. we are! He shows us mercy, grace and kindness when it’s the last thing we deserve! He helps us through our day and lets us know that we are NOT alone! OUR SAVIOR is mighty to save, He is the king of kings, THE name above all names!

All his grace towards us is so amazing, So today I want to encourage ANYONE who’s reading this to show some kindness to everyone around you! Let them know that they are loved and that they can be set free from all their sin and sorrow.

Sing songs of praises to Our Heavenly Father! Let the whole world hear about his undying love for us! Just stop what you’re doing for 2 minutes today; NO MATTER how busy you are and just show the love and mercy God shows us everyday!

But I also want you to take time and remember that YOU are loved too!! remember that God would not carry you through something if you couldn’t make it through. Remember that this world is so temporary and the time spent here is nothing compared to the eternity spent with God!

So as we (I) go into this new month, I want to remember how much God loves us and how We need to show that love to others while We have the Chance!

Today is a new day, MAKE TODAY BEAUTIFUL! -Sara
